About Me

I was born in East London in 1954. I got my first paid gig at the age of 13 when I was touring with what was then billed as "Britain's Youngest Pop Group". We were offered a 5 year recording contract with Pye records and we turned it down! Just as well, as it finally went to The Bay City Rollers and they all ended up skint. I began my musical life as a drummer but I quickly worked out that the drummer never got the girls, so I learn't to play the guitar and later keyboards.  No matter what instrument I was playing I was always the lead singer. It was an amazingly creative period of musical history and I got to perform with some music legends on their way up the ladder like David Bowie, Status Quo and many more from that era. At the age of 16 I took myself off to the world of theatre and received vocal training amongst other things. Long before the craze for tribute acts I used to provide sound-a-like vocals on record labels like Telstar & Ronco. My stage name (Phil Inn) originated as a nickname around the London recording studios. Because I could play a range of instruments and had a very versatile vocal range I was in regular demand as a session musician/singer filling in for others who weren't perhaps up to scratch for a particular record. I officially retired in 2006 but as I've always loved to perform I now restrict myself to just three gigs a week so I can enjoy my retirement a bit but still not miss out on having so much fun doing what I love best.
The Very Best In Live Music
Welcome to my Web Site

It would be fair to say that my specialist area is music from the Rocking 50's the Swinging 60's and the Glam-Rock 70's - mainly because this is my own favourite period of musical history. Having said that, you will find within my playlist a range of other styles, from the Crooner era, Old-Time Pub sing-a-long's, Country & Western, Bootscooting, Reggae, Ballads, right through to Christmas hits & Party favourites. I've even got a selection of contemporary hits for the youngsters.

I'd go as far as to say that no matter what type of function or party you are having, at any type of venue you are holding it at, I will be able to provide you with top quality 'Live Music' to suit your needs at a price you can afford. I also provide my own specialist lighting effects to make the party go with a swing and offer an MC service for functions at no extra cost. You can now view film clips of a few of my perormances at www.youtube.com Just do a search for Phil Inn. Please excuse the poor sound quality as they were done on a mobile phone but they will give you an idea of who I am and what I do.

Please be aware that I do get booked up well in advance so if you are looking to book at some point in the future, the earlier you contact me the better.
